MCGRATH’S ATTORNEY SAYS FBI KNEW HE BOUGHT USED CADILLAC AND HAD A GUN

The attorney for fugitive Roy McGrath says the FBI knew McGrath had bought a used Cadillac, had a gun and several cell phones before agents caught up with him this week.  But the Baltimore Sun reports it was not clear to his attorney — Joseph Murtha — how his client obtained the gun and the cell phones.  It also remains unclear whether McGrath shot himself or was shot by an FBI agent.  McGrath had been a fugitive for three weeks after he failed to show up for his trial on federal fraud charges in Baltimore.  He died during a confrontation with agents Monday night in Knoxville, Tennessee.  Officials with the FBI field office in Baltimore say they cannot comment during an ongoing investigation.
