FORMER W.MD. PRIEST NOT INCLUDED ON “CREDIBLY ACCUSED” LIST

There were some familiar names in last week’s report on sexual abuse in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, released by the Attorney General’s Office. However, a priest serving at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Garrett County was one of 32 clergymen who were “credibly accused,” but did not appear on the church’s public list. Joseph Krach was reported for “having some problems with altar boys” at St. Peter’s, and was hospitalized at the Seton Institute in Baltimore in 1968. There is no record of any attempt to identify his victims, and the church had, in fact, helped out with Masses at Stella Maris, a retirement home in Timonium. And, according to one report, there was “no recommendation for public disclosure” and “no record of any attempt by the Archdiocese to identify victims.”
