Weekly jobless claims are up in Maryland. The U.S. Labor Department says the number of Marylanders filing initial applications for unemployment benefits for the week ending April 8th was more than 2200. That’s an increase of over 430. Nationally, new claims jumped by eleven thousand, to 239,000.
