CREWS BREAK GROUND FOR WIND ENERGY FACILITY

Crews are beginning work on a new wind energy manufacturing facility in Sparrows Point.  Governor Wes Moore joined other elected leaders and officials from the Danish green energy company Orsted for the groundbreaking ceremony at Tradepoint Atlantic, at the site of the former Bethlehem Steel plant.  Orsted will use the facility to build base structures for offshore wind turbines.  During the event, Moore also signed legislation aimed at helping Maryland achieve a goal of generating eight-and-a-half gigawatts of offshore wind energy by 2031.
