MARYLAND JOBLESS CLAIMS DROP

Weekly jobless claims are down in Maryland.  The U.S. Labor Department says the number of residents filing initial applications for unemployment benefits for the week ending April 22nd was just over 17-hundred.  That’s a drop of nearly 400 from the previous week.  Nationally, about 230-thousand people sought first-time benefits, for a decrease of 16-thousand from the previous week’s revised level.
