PRIEST RESIGNS FROM UM ST. JOSEPH’S MED CENTER BOARD

A Catholic priest has resigned from the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center’s board of directors.  The resignation of Monsignor Richard Woy came after the Baltimore Sun revealed his role in the effort to cover up child sex abuse in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. According to the newspaper, there has been no comment from the Towson-based hospital, the Archdiocese or the Monsignor. Woy, who is the pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Crofton, is one of five priests whose names were redacted in the Maryland Attorney General’s report on child sexual abuse in the Archdiocese.
