GOVERNOR SIGNS 175 BILLS, INCLUDING GUN MEASURES

Governor Wes Moore put pen to paper again, signing 175 bills from the 2023 Maryland General Assembly session into law.  Among them is Senate Bill 1, which prohibits permitted concealed gun owners from carrying weapons in certain areas, including schools, polling places, government buildings, sports complexes and bars and restaurants where alcohol and cannabis are consumed.  Another bill limits who can get a concealed gun permit in Maryland.  Immediately after Moore signed the bills, the National Rifle Association announced it is filing a lawsuit against Maryland on grounds the measures are unconstitutional.
