D.H.S. ESTABLISHES NEW SYSTEM FOR REPLACING STOLEN SNAP BENEFITS

Pennsylvania State DHS officials say they’ve established a new system to help SNAP recipients whose benefits have been electronically stolen.  Anyone who’s been a victim after October 1st of last year is eligible to file for a replacement card.  State officials say there have millions of dollars in benefits stolen through electronic activity such as card cloning, skimming, and collecting EBT numbers and PIN numbers.  SNAP users can file a Benefit Theft Claim Form and submit it online or provide it to DHS by calling their customer service center or by visiting a county assistance office.
