PA. GOVERNOR SIGNS ORDER CREATING WORKFORCE TRAINING PROGRAM

Governor Josh Shapiro says a new executive order he signed Monday will create a 400-million-dollar program for job training.  The workforce development grants will train up to ten-thousand state workers for future jobs funded through federal infrastructure investments.  The program is designed to give companies, contractors, and unions up to 40-thousand dollars per new employee to work on projects such as road or bridge construction or clean energy.  Those programs have also reserved three percent of funding to pay for training workers from underserved communities.
