It is hoped the video surveillance system for downtown Cumberland will be completed by the end of the year. The city has secured agreements with most of the property owners in the downtown area after receiving nearly $150,000 in grants to fund the project. Video surveillance will include 13 cameras equipped with both facial and license plate recognition capabilities. Camera installation will coincide with the ongoing work in downtown Cumberland.
