Garrett County residents Daniel Lee Smith and Stephen Lloyd Younkin were arrested on drug distribution and possession charges, following a traffic stop earlier this week in Friendsville. Smith allegedly tried to flee the scene but was apprehended. He reportedly had 11 individually pre-packaged paper folds, containing suspected fentanyl. Additional drugs and paraphernalia, weighing about 33 grams, were also recovered. Smith is being held without bond, while Younkin, who was charged with possession of fentanyl and paraphernalia, was released on his own recognizance.
