Volunteers from Maryland are joining others from across the country in heading to Hawaii to help with relief efforts as Maui recovers from the recent wildfires. Officials with the American Red Cross National Capital and Chesapeake Region say they don’t know yet how long they’ll be on the ground but that they’ll be there as long as they’re needed. They say they have 220 trained disaster responders on the ground in Maui, providing food and shelter to residents. The wildfires have so far left 93 people dead and hundreds more missing.
