CREDIT UNION THEFTS BEING INVESTIGATED

The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the withdrawal of more than $20,000 from First People’s Community Federal Credit Union last week. A man, impersonating the husband of an Elk Lick Township woman, obtained checks and withdrew the money. Although identities were not released, the same man and an accomplice tried a similar theft at a nearby branch of First People’s on Thursday, and were arrested. Similar thefts have been happening across Pennsylvania and surrounding states.
