BILL WOULD ALLOW PATIENTS TO GET MEDICAL MARIJUANA REGARDLESS OF

ILLNESS

Legislation is advancing in the Pennsylvania state Senate that would loosen up Pennsylvania’s Medical Marijuana Act. It would allow doctors to certify medical cannabis as a suitable treatment regardless of a patient’s medical condition. The Senate Law and Justice Committee voted ten-to-one to approve the bill that would eliminate 24 serious conditions that were previously required to get a prescription. The measure also would eliminate the expiration date on medical marijuana cards. It’s sponsored by Republican Committee Chairman Mike Regan, who represents Cumberland and York counties.
