FREDERICK SHERIFF ENDS LEAVE AMID GUN CHARGES

Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins is ending his leave of absence.  Jenkins went on administrative leave in April shortly after he pleaded not guilty to federal charges stemming from an alleged scheme to illegally purchase machine guns.   He released a memo yesterday, stating that he is resuming full duties as head of the agency.  Jenkins said the leave was self-imposed and there is no reason not to return to full duties at this point.
