SPANISH AND CHINESE SPARED AT W.V.U.

Foreign languages such as Chinese and Spanish will not be cut from West Virginia University. As part of the 45-million-dollar budget cuts will be the Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics – but Spanish and Chinese will remain an option for students.  Spanish is considered a high-demand language, and Chinese is listed as critical need.  This fall at WVU, there is only one freshman who has World Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics indicated as their major.
