Pennsylvania’s former state secretary of health is advocating that a federal law be changed to decriminalize marijuana. Dr. Rachel Levine is currently the assistant secretary for Health in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She reportedly has sent a letter to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency asking that marijuana be reclassified as a Schedule Three drug on the federal level. It’s currently a Schedule One, which means it has a high risk for abuse and also has no medical purpose.
