STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES CAN NOW STAY IN SCHOOL LONGER

A new Pennsylvania state policy is now in effect that will allow students with disabilities to remain in school until the age of 22.  That means they can receive free support through the public education system for an additional year beyond what’s currently allowed. Under the state Department of Education’s previous policy, students would age out of the program at the end of the year during which they turned 21. Students who turned 21 this past year now have the option of re-enrolling for this school year.
