A Democratic state lawmaker from Luzerne says he hopes his legislation to increase fees for dog licenses can get passed quickly once the House returns later this month. Representative Eddie Day Pashinski says his co-sponsored bill has been five years in the making. He adds that Senate Bill 746 would increase license fees for the first time in more than 25 years and update kennel fees for the first time in nearly 60 years. Under the updates, state residents will pay eight-dollars for an annual dog license. The Department of Agriculture says only half the dogs in the Commonwealth are currently licensed. The bill now sits with the House Appropriations Committee.
