MARYLAND TO RECEIVE MILLIONS FOR ENERGY PROGRAMS

Maryland is being awarded more than eight-and-a-half-million dollars in federal funding to modernize the state’s power grid and invest in clean energy.  The U.S. Department of Energy announced the funding through the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.  The money is earmarked for projects to improve the resiliency and reliability of the power grid, invest in carbon-neutral energy technologies and support workforce development in clean energy jobs.  Members of Maryland’s Democratic congressional delegation say the funds are aimed at providing a safer, more reliable grid system that will “withstand the test of time and climate change.”
