West Side Elementary School’s students and staff were evacuated after a report of smoke in the building. The Cumberland Fire Department responded to the school and determined the cause of the smoke was the result of an overheated dishwasher. The “all clear” was given for everyone to return to the building, and the instructional day resumed as normal.
