Thirty-three-year-old Joseph Alan Gordon faces rape, attempted rape, and kidnapping charges, following a Saturday afternoon incident in Frostburg. Initially a woman had reported she had been grabbed by a suspect, who forced her to another location in an attempt, she believed, to sexually assault her. Later, police received another report that a suspect had been seen leading a little girl by the hand, from the Meshach Village area. All available law enforcement agencies participated in finding the girl; she was found in the west end area of Frost Avenue, where Gordon was taken into custody. Anyone who has information, or private surveillance video is asked to contact police.
