Expressing concern over the chosen developer of the former Allegany High School site on Sedgwick Street, a group of West Side residents are preparing to present their own design plans. The group feels there are “serious concerns” with a plan to build up to 110 family homes and cottage courts. The developer, D.R. Horton—according to the group—has extremely low ratings and is involved with several lawsuits throughout the country, including Maryland. They plan on making a presentation at this afternoon’s Allegany County Commissioners’ meeting, at the county office complex on Kelly Road. The meeting starts at 5 p.m.
