MD. SENATE PRESIDENT BILL FERGUSON REACTS TO MORGAN STATE SHOOTING

Maryland Senate President Bill Ferguson is reacting to the Tuesday night shooting on the campus of Morgan State University in Baltimore. Ferguson says the repetition of these horrific events is about one thing — easy access to guns. He says things like this don’t happen at the same rate in places where guns aren’t immediately available. He says of course, there should be a focus on mental health issues and the like, but “we as a society have a choice — more guns or less.” He says the tragedy has nothing to do with Morgan State University, which is an incredible institution, enhancing lives everyday. He says it happened at Morgan, but it can happen anywhere when a culture of guns is accepted as being the answer. Ferguson says, they aren’t and never will be.
