INITIAL JOBLESS CLAIMS DROP IN MARYLAND

First-time claims for unemployment benefits are lower in Maryland.  New numbers from the U.S. Labor Department show about 18-hundred new applications were filed in the week ending September 30th.  That’s down from just over 19-hundred from the previous week.  Nationally, new jobless filings totaled 207-thousand, up by two-thousand from the previous week’s revised level.
