Columbia, Maryland is considered one of the safest cities in the U.S. Personal finance website WalletHub based its rankings of more than 180 cities on over three-dozen safety indicators including traffic fatalities per capita, assaults per capita, unemployment rate and percentage of the population that’s uninsured. Columbia is ranked second after being considered the safest American city the previous five years. Baltimore drops two spots this year to 163rd on the list.
