COMMISSIONERS APPROVE STEP IN LOCATING INDUSTRIAL WASTE COMPANY

The Allegany County Commissioners have voted to approve another stop in the process to bring an industrial waste recycling company to the Rawlings area. Geocycle LLC would be located on county-owned property between Maryland Route 956 and the American Woodmark Corporation plant along Route 220. The company uses low-speed shredding equipment and metal separators “to process industrial waste into a homogenous fuel and aggregates used in the building industry,” according to the Cumberland Times-News.
