76 YEARS SINCE YEAGER FLIGHT

This Saturday will mark the 76th anniversary of the first flight to break the sound barrier.  West Virginia’s Chuck Yeager was at the controls of the Bell X-1 on that flight in October of 1974 over the California desert.  Several events will take place starting Friday to mark that famous day.  One will be the re-dedication of the “Yeager Bridge” over the Kanawha River.
