Maryland Congressman David Trone is the latest candidate to officially announce he will run for the US Senate. The Democratic Representative says he will look to replace the retiring Senator Ben Cardin. In his third term as a Congressman, Trone says if elected to the Senate he plans to continue his focus on criminal justice reform, mental health, medical research, and opioid addiction. The founder of the Total Wine & More chain, Trone will face fellow Congressman Jamie Raskin, Montgomery Council Council member Will Jawando, and Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks for the nomination.
