STATE LEADERS WARN ABOUT NEW MEDICAID SCAM

The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services is warning residents about a new scam that targets people who use Medicaid. They say a new fraud scheme is being tried just as many recipients are starting to re-enroll in new programs. DHS Secretary Val Arkoosh says in a statement that the scammers claim a person’s policy has been terminated and that they must pay additional premiums, such as a “one-time enrollment fee.” He says these calls are false and that DHS will not ask for personal or account information, nor will they ask for details about a person’s benefits.especially over the phone.
