SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGED THREATENING COMMENT AT B.W.I.

A suspect was taken into custody Wednesday after allegedly making a threatening comment at BWI Airport.  The suspect allegedly indicated they had an explosive in their vehicle near the lower-level terminal around 2:30 p.m. Maryland Transportation Authority Police, a bomb squad, the FBI and ATF all responded to clear the scene and roadways to and from the airport were reopened about two hours later. BWI spokesman Jonathan Dean says throughout the incident officials updated travelers with audio announcements, social media posts and the airport website. Police will work with the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office to determine any charges in the case.
