Cumberland resident Sean Allen Smith was being held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center following an incident Friday night. Smith, who had been prohibited from owning a firearm, allegedly pointed a rifle at a woman in the first block of Arch Street. It was also discovered one of the firearms in the residence was stolen. The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office was also notified after police learned of a possible explosive device; which was later determined to be inactive. There were no injuries reported.
