SHAPIRO SIGNS NON-BUDGET MEASURES INTO LAW

Governor Josh Shapiro has signed four various bills into law that slightly change previous measures.  One gives gas station/convenience store chains the ability to install fueling pumps farther from the master or emergency shutoffs buttons.  House Bill 1171 increases the threshold to 350 feet. Two measures change the way tobacco companies contribute toward the state’s share of the Tobacco Settlement Agreement. And the fourth piece of legislation, Senate Bill 836, clarifies that staff at the Municipal Police Officer Education and Training Center are authorized to conduct fingerprint-based background checks on applicants for police jobs. Shapiro has now signed 12 non-budget bills into law.
