CAUSE OF FROSTBURG FIRE DETERMINED

A child, playing with a lighter, caused Monday’s late afternoon fire on Mill Street in Frostburg. Damage to the contents and the duplex itself was listed at $25,000. The fire, which began around 5:45 p.m. Monday, began in a second-floor bedroom, when the mattress of a bunk bed was ignited by a child playing with a lighter. The American Red Cross assisted displaced tenants. There was also a report of two cats, which went missing during the emergency response.
