INMATE CONVICTED OF ASSAULTING HAZLETON OFFICER

Dwight Foster, a federal inmate formerly housed at the U.S. Penitentiary Hazleton will be spending even more time in jail, after being convicted of assaulting a correctional officer. Foster was found with a prison-made weapon during a random search at the prison; when the officer tried to take the object, Foster struck him in the face and chest with his fist. He now could be sentenced to up to eight years in prison for the assault charge and up to five years on the weapons charge.
