MARYLAND CONGRESSMAN HARRIS REAFFIRMS SUPPORT OF JORDAN

Maryland’s lone Republican in Congress is reaffirming his support for Jim Jordan to be House Speaker.   For a second straight day, First District Representative Andy Harris voted for the Republican from Ohio, who failed in his bid to become speaker in the second round of voting.  Harris said on social media the American people want a speaker to represent them, not special interests, so he’s backing Jordan for as long as it takes.  Maryland’s seven Democrats all voted for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who got 212 votes compared to Jordan’s 199.
