Maryland is being awarded federal funds from the CDC to expand Alzheimer’s disease and dementia prevention and care programs in the state. The five-year, two-and-a-half-million-dollar grant comes from the Building Our Largest Dementia Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act, a law passed in 2018. The Maryland health department will use the funds to expand programs to help residents impacted by brain disorders. Maryland is one of 43 states and local governments receiving the awards.
