A scam that targets people who are renewing their Medicaid insurance is now making rounds. Pennsylvania Department of Human Services personnel say if a caller claims to be from the department and asks for your personal information, they’re working an angle. Officials say the state will never request details about personal benefits over the phone. The scam comes at a time when Medicaid recipients need to re-enroll to renew their coverage for the first time in about three years. That’s because of policies ending that were put into effect during the COVID pandemic.
