Former Governor Larry Hogan says he is “deeply saddened” by the “senseless killing” of a Western Maryland judge who was gunned down on Thursday night in the driveway of his Hagerstown home. Hogan appointed Washington County Circuit Court Judge Andrew Wilkinson to the bench in 2020. Governor Wes Moore issued a statement saying he’s “shocked, heartbroken and sickened” by the killing. Police are searching for Pedro Argote in connection with the shooting. Investigators believe the judge was targeted because he granted custody of the suspect’s children to their mother earlier in the day.
