PA. THIRD IN TOP TEN STATES WHERE DRIVERS HIT ANIMALS

Drivers in Pennsylvania are more likely to hit an animal on the road than in 40 other states. That’s according to State Farm Insurance, which compiled its list of states from industry data.   Their figures from 2022 show there were several thousand crashes involving a deer, with 59 drivers experiencing a collision. Pennsylvania also had the highest number of claims out of all the states, with an estimated 154-thousand claims for the time period.  Company experts say animal crashes, especially deer, happen most often during the months of October through December. That coincides with mating season when the animals are more active, as well as hunting season.
