Jury selection is underway in federal court in Greenbelt for the perjury trial of former Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby. Prospective jurors are being asked dozens of questions, including whether they are aware of the case or know her husband, Baltimore City Council President Nick Mosby. They are also being asked if they ever withdrew any COVID hardship money from their retirement accounts. Mosby is accused of lying to get early access to her city-managed retirement account. She will face a separate trial on federal charges of making false statements on mortgage applications to get better interest rates.
