Current statewide appellate court judge Dan McCaffery will soon be going to work in a different courtroom. The Democrat won an open seat on Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court in Tuesday’s general election. The panel has been dominated by a Democratic majority for many years and has been integral in deciding several critical election-related rulings in Pennsylvania. Democrats currently hold a 4-2 majority on the state supreme court. The open seat was created by the death last year of Chief Justice Max Baer, a Democrat.
