Cumberland resident Chad Izat was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a temporary commitment, following a Tuesday evening incident at UPMC-Western Maryland. Izat ran in front of a police cruiser at the roundabout; when confronted he began yelling and running around the vehicle. He was taken to police headquarters, issued a criminal citation and released; he then ran to the driver’s door of an unattended K-9 cruiser and tried to get in it. After a brief foot pursuit, he was arrested again, and taken to the Detention Center.
