After more than a decade of debate, the U.S. General Services Administration has selected Greenbelt, Maryland as the location for the new FBI headquarters. The GSA says the site carries the lowest cost for taxpayers, has the greatest transportation access, and provides the highest potential to advance sustainability and equity. Landover, Maryland and Springfield, Virginia were the other locations under consideration. Maryland’s federal, state, and local officials say this is a historic moment for the FBI, the state, and the nation. Members of Team Maryland say they have long believed that Greenbelt would be the best location and they’re pleased that the GSA arrived at the same conclusion.
