Democratic Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia will not seek reelection next year. Manchin made the announcement in a video posted to social media this afternoon. He called it one of the toughest decisions of his life. Manchin, however, signaled he’s not leaving politics entirely, saying he plans to travel around the country to see if there is an interest in “creating a movement to mobilize the middle and bring Americans together.” The current front runner to replace him is GOP West Virginia Governor Jim Justice. That means Senate Republicans and Democrats would have an even power split.
