NAME CHANGE FOR PMMB STILL NOT SOLIDIFIED

A bill to change the name of one of the most important dairy organizations in the state is still to come up for a vote. One of the recommendations of a state study was to rename the Pennsylvania Milk Marketing Board  to the Pennsylvania Milk Board. Officials say a name change would more accurately describe what the Milk Marketing Board deals with. While the board is responsible for the economic regulation of milk in the Commonwealth, it does not actually “market” milk in the sense of promoting, selling, or advertising it as a product. Supporters say it would change the name to more accurately reflect the board’s duties and responsibilities.
