NATURAL GAS PRODUCTION IN KEY PA. COUNTIES FELL IN 2022

Federal officials say Pennsylvania natural gas production remained flat last year, including in four key Pennsylvania counties. Data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration shows those four top-producing counties – Susquehanna, Washington, Bradford, and Greene – saw a three percent decline in production in 2022 compared to the previous year. Officials say drilling efficiency decreased in three of those counties for the first time in ten years.  Overall, Susquehanna County has been the state’s largest natural gas producer.
