PANEL VOTES TO APPROVE OPENING LOCAL MEETINGS TO ADJOINING RESIDENTS

A House Bill has been approved in committee that would allow residents from an adjoining local government or school district to speak at local government meetings. House Local Government Committee Chairman Robert Freeman says a township in his district wouldn’t let him speak about a landfill zoning issue because he didn’t live there.
