Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks is officially entering the race for U.S. Senate in Maryland. Alsobrooks announced she would file the paperwork with the State Board of Elections to run for the seat being vacated by retiring Senator Ben Cardin. Her main opponent for the Democratic nomination, Congressman David Trone, also officially filed to be on the May 14th ballot today. Despite picking up numerous endorsements from top Democrats, Alsobrooks trails Trone by double digits in a poll released by his campaign this week.
