E.P.A. BACKS OFF FUNDING ALL-ELECTRIC SCHOOL BUSES

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is cutting the funding for Monongalia, Mineral, and Harrison counties to purchase all-electric school buses.  The reason given is the EPA says the definition of rural areas in mountainous regions does not match with their guidelines.  Harrison County Schools were looking to purchase five of the all-electric buses from Green Power Motor Company in South Charleston.  They still plan to go ahead with the purchase of a single bus, which is still 30-thousand-dollars less than a diesel- or gas-powered bus.
